Ethan's soccer coach is a fireman, and invited all the kids and families to the firestation this afternoon for a family picnic. The kids played kick-ball while the hotdogs and hamburgers were grilled.

How happy were the boys that some very kind buiders left a pile of sand and a pile of stones right outside our house when they finished off our back garden drainage! There is usually 100 kids on it! ok... maybe not 100.....but lots!!!!

Fall Carnival! (Autumn school fete!)

 
 
 
The boys at Greenbriar Elementary School's fall carnival. It was a really fun time! The guys won tickets that they took to the prize room and chose their treasures. Then Evil Mum made the boys pose for a sqinty-in-the-sun-photo!Quick lunch at Moe's then off to buy the boys their Halloween costumes.

Mr. Smith found a snake in the front yard as he was cutting the grass! We were wondering if the scorpion in the bathroom would get it, or if it would get the poisonous spiders!

We had a great week at soccer. Both boys won their matches. These Smith boys rock on the pitch!Yes, the pitch! It's a pitch, not a field, a game not a match, and a keeper, not a goalie! Go the Cougars and team Extreme!!

Soccer week!

It's been a good week for Alex and Ethan with their soccer. Yes, I know its football but I have to call it soccer here, so its just easier.
Ethan's team is called Team Extreme. They won their first match 10-nil. Ethan scored 8. Alex's team is called the Cougars, they won 5-2 and Alex scored 2.
On Friday I had lunch with the girls at Appleby's and met Dave, Hazel's friend from England. He is adorable! Everyone hit it off with him and we all loved him!
On Friday afternoon Grandaddy, Mr. Smith's dad came for an overnight visit. We went out for dinner at Fatz, and enjoyed some lovely shrimp, then took the boys for ice cream at Brusters. There are some photos - I just can't find them at the moment!!
Saturday evening we went to a house-warming party at Archie's house. Archie has just arrived from Canada and mixes a mean cosmopolitan! It was my turn to drive but I still had a brilliant night and couldn't stop laughing - especially while we were doing our Charlie's Angels and Bunny Girl poses!
Sunday, cooked a Sunday roast, had a few glasses of wine and went to bed, ready for the new week.
